Kamala Harris has urged Donald Trump to release his health records after she made hers public, which showed she is in “excellent health” and fit to be president.

According to Harris, Trump has been hiding his medical information, and she believes he doesn’t want Americans to know whether he’s fit for the presidency. BBC reports that Harris criticized Trump for this lack of transparency.

Trump’s team, however, responded by quoting his doctor, who said Trump is in “perfect and excellent health.” They also pointed out that Trump’s busy campaign schedule proves his stamina, something they claim Harris lacks, as per BBC’s coverage.

The back-and-forth continued after the White House published a medical report stating Harris is physically and mentally capable of being president.

Harris’ doctor, Dr. Joshua Simmons, said her latest check-up was “unremarkable,” and she follows recommended health practices, such as getting regular screenings like colonoscopies and mammograms, reports BBC.

In response, Harris’ team challenged Trump on social media, urging him to share his own medical records. BBC adds that during a campaign event in North Carolina, Harris even questioned Trump’s mental sharpness, suggesting he often “goes off on tangents.”

Trump’s team defended him, saying he had already shared updates from his doctors, who confirmed he’s fit to lead, according to BBC.

They also mentioned a medical letter from November 2023 that said Trump’s exams were normal, and his cognitive tests were “exceptional.”

BBC reports that this health debate follows months of both sides questioning the fitness of the opposing candidates.
