Ghana Stands Firmly by Coach Chris Hughton After Fan Dispute Following AFCON Upset Against Cape Verde.

Ghana’s national football team, the Black Stars, faced a 2-1 defeat by Cape Verde, marking Hughton’s fourth loss in 11 games as coach.

Reports suggested a fan altercation with Hughton at the hotel, but Ghana clarified it was a verbal dispute, dealt with internally.

The team, led by Hughton since February 2022, had a strong start but suffered setbacks in recent matches. Ghana Football Association assured 100% support, emphasizing the possibility of victory in the remaining matches.

Security at the team’s hotel was heightened after the incident, involving a single fan expressing dissatisfaction with the team’s performance.
