Four people were killed and three others injured by lightning in Mozambique as the country braces for Storm Filipo.

The lightning struck in the town of Mogincual in the northern province of Nampula. Meanwhile, other provinces are on alert for severe thunderstorms.

Storm Filipo has hit the coast and could become a severe tropical storm.

Mozambique’s National Institute of Meteorology is warning boats to take precautions.
