Rescue operations are underway off the coast of Porticello, near Palermo, Sicily, after a sailboat sank early Monday morning.

Seven people are still missing, including four Britons, according to Italian authorities.

The sailboat, which was flying a British flag, encountered bad weather, but 15 people, including a child, were rescued, reports the BBC.

The wreck has been located at a depth of 50 meters, and divers are searching for the missing individuals.

The ship was managed by Camper and Nicholsons International, but the company declined to provide specific details about the vessel, as noted by the BBC.
