The people in charge of football are looking into what Rubiales did. He kissed a player on the lips after they won the Women’s World Cup final.

FIFA said they are looking into what the Spanish soccer group’s boss, Luis Rubiales, did. He kissed player Jenni Hermoso on the lips after Spain won the Women’s World Cup. A group of three people in charge of discipline, led by ex-Colombian judge Jorge Palacio, will decide if Rubiales broke the rules of good behavior and did things that make football and FIFA look bad.

FIFA told Rubiales that they are starting to look into what happened during the final match. They think he might have broken the rules mentioned in their code. They will share more information about this when they make a final decision. FIFA wants everyone to know that they really care about people’s integrity and don’t like bad behavior.

Last Wednesday, Hermoso said the Spanish group should do something about the issue. She didn’t talk about the exact event, but the FUTPRO Spanish women’s soccer players’ union was checking it out for her.

Right after it happened, Rubiales didn’t say sorry. He called anyone who thought he did something wrong “silly.” Later, he kind of said sorry, mentioning that while they saw it as normal, others got upset, so he apologized.

FIFA hasn’t said when they will decide, but they could give a punishment like a fine or not let him participate. Even though the Spanish women’s league and Spain’s leader criticized him, Rubiales, who is also a part of UEFA, hasn’t quit his job in European soccer.
