A well-known bodybuilder from Britain named Neil Currey, who both competed in bodybuilding and coached others interested in fitness, has passed away at the age of 34.

Neil’s previous coach, Milo Sarcev, shared this sad news on Instagram on September 12. Alongside several pictures of Neil, Sarcev wrote, “I received very sad news today – my former athlete @neil_currey has passed away šŸ˜”… I don’t know what to say, I feel very sad. I offer my heartfelt sympathies to his family, friends, and loved ones. Rest in peace, Neil, and may your soul find peace. šŸ™šŸ»ā¤ļø.”

Sarcev also shared a special memory about the bodybuilder who passed away. He remembered, “The most recent and happiest memory I have of him is when he had a big smile on his face after winning the New York Pro competition. It was a moment when he achieved his lifelong goal of qualifying for the Mr. Olympia contest.”

The company Hosstile, which Neil Currey collaborated with before, expressed their sorrow for the bodybuilder’s passing. They also paid their respects, saying, “We feel very sad about Neil Currey’s passing. What we remember most about him is how devoted he was to his work, how he always helped his teammates and others, and how he had a positive and cheerful attitude.”

Generation Iron, a source for fitness news, also told about Currey’s passing. They haven’t confirmed the reasons behind his death or the circumstances.

The bodybuilding community gathered to express their sadness about Currey’s passing. Many shared their memories and feelings in the comments on social media.

Someone who considered Currey both their “coach” and “friend” commented on Hosstile’s post, saying, “Iā€™m extremely heartbroken. This man had a bigger impact on me than anyone else ever did in my life. Iā€™m really heartbroken.”

People in the fitness industry, like Andrei Deiu, Hany Rambod, Dennis Wolf, and Iris Kyle, shared their sympathies when they heard the sad news.

Currey started as a bodybuilder in 2017, and two years later, he entered his first IFBB competition in Classic Physique. He went on to compete in various places worldwide.

His big moment came in 2022, when he won first place at the New York Pro, which qualified him for the Mr. Olympia contest. Though he came in 16th in the event last year, just getting to Mr. Olympia is a huge achievement in this field.
