A 29-year-old man named William Cyril Cohen was apprehended by security personnel at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for impersonating a medical professional.
William Cyril Cohen was discovered lingering around the Chest Clinic and Accident and Emergency Block on Monday morning, a time when doctors should have been attending to patients in the wards and consulting rooms.
When questioned by the Director of Nursing about his identity, he initially claimed to be a doctor or nurse. However, as he faced more inquiries, he became nervous and attempted to flee.
The hospital’s security staff pursued and apprehended him.
Following further questioning by hospital authorities, he admitted that he was not a legitimate doctor.
He has now been handed over to the Central Police Station in Kumasi for further investigation.
