Ethiopian authorities have begun bringing back migrants stuck in Saudi Arabia, flying out 842 of them last Friday.
The plan’s third phase aims to rescue 70,000 people in four months, running 12 flights a week.
These migrants faced tough conditions, many undocumented and stuck in Saudi prisons or detention centers.
But there’s a risk they’ll go back to Saudi Arabia, where many seek better lives despite dangers.
Just this week, 38 Ethiopians, including kids, died in a shipwreck off Djibouti, possibly en route to Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia hosts around 750,000 Ethiopian migrants, with over half entering illegally.
