Leaders of the New Popular Front (NFP) are pressing President Macron to let them decide who becomes France’s next prime minister, following the resignation of Gabriel Attal.
They argue that since their coalition holds the most seats in the National Assembly, it’s their right to nominate the prime minister.
Manuel Bompard from France Unbowed emphasized that Macron should formally invite the NFP to propose a candidate for Matignon, the prime minister’s residence.
Green Party’s Marine Tondelier hinted at uncertainty, noting Macron’s unpredictable nature. Meanwhile, Socialist Party’s Olivier Faure suggested that the coalition could announce their pick for prime minister soon.
We’ll have to wait and see how Macron responds to these demands, as the political situation unfolds in France.
