She and her husband are seeking $50,000 in damages.
A lady is taking Disney World to court because she got hurt on a water slide. Emma McGuinness, in papers filed on September 27, said it happened in October 2019 at Typhoon Lagoon in Florida. She and her husband, Edward McGuinness, want $50,000 in compensation after the slide, Humunga Kowabunga, led to her going to the ER in an ambulance.
When Emma reached the pool after coming down the very tall slide, the force of hitting the water caused her clothes to painfully get stuck between her legs. It also made water go inside her forcefully.
Emma said that right away, she felt very bad pain inside her, and when she stood up, there was a lot of blood coming out from between her legs. They took her to a nearby hospital and then to another special hospital to fix her private area.
Her lawyer, Alan Wagner, said in the legal papers that the slide had certain dangers, and Disney should have known about them and told their visitors, like Emma.
The lawyer says that the slide has dangers that guests wouldn’t expect. He wrote, “The slide was not safe and was unreasonably risky for Ms. McGuinness and others because it didn’t meet what a normal person would expect.” The publication tried to get a comment from the park, but they didn’t get a response yet.
