In China, there are around 200 million kids and teenagers who use the internet. Out of them, at least 24 million are using it a lot, like it’s becoming a problem.
In the next few months, the government in Beijing will stop these young people from using the internet between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. They will also have rules about how much time they can spend online each day, depending on how old they are.
China is already kind of separated from the rest of the world’s internet, and they have some strict rules about what people can see online.
Now, they’re making even stricter rules for young people and sometimes using harsh methods to make sure they follow them. Our reporters have more details from Shanghai.
