In a recent interview segment featured on Today, Carson Daly’s son, Jackson, displayed a striking resemblance to his father. Jackson, stepping into his father’s role, conducted an engaging interview with the iconic LL Cool J, evoking a sense of nostalgia. The 14-year-old, who gained valuable experience as a correspondent on NBC Nightly News With Lester Holt: Kids Edition, skillfully engaged in a conversation with the renowned rap artist. They delved into the evolution of hip-hop spanning five decades, in a segment previewed by Carson Daly himself during the “PopStart” portion of the August 10 episode of the Today Show.

Carson presented the “previously engaged PopStart graphics aide” as “one of the most impactful reporters in the field” prior to sharing a preview of the interview.

Jackson inquired about your thoughts on the current direction of hip-hop as the preview started, acknowledging the significant evolution it has undergone since its inception.”

The rapper expressed agreement and conveyed his positive sentiment about the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the hip-hop genre. He particularly emphasized his satisfaction with younger individuals like Jackson being introduced to music they might not typically come across.
