The Biden family’s dog, Commander, bit people many times. One time, a person had to go to the hospital. The dog bit a lot of guards at the White House and their home in Delaware.
The First Lady’s spokesperson, Elizabeth Alexander, said they are still deciding what to do with Commander. She mentioned that the President and First Lady really care about the safety of people who work at the White House.
Commander is not at the White House right now. They’re thinking about what to do next. They didn’t say where Commander is staying or if he will come back.
CNN reported that Commander actually bit more than 11 times, according to the Secret Service. They said some bites were very serious, needing hospital care.
The White House press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, said living in the White House is very stressful. She explained that it’s not easy for people, and even harder for family pets.
In July, they said they were trying new ways to train Commander after the biting incidents. They’re trying to help him behave better.
