73 million current and former AT&T customers’ personal data got leaked online. It includes stuff like addresses and social security numbers.

AT&T doesn’t think the data was stolen, but they’re investigating. They’ve changed customers’ passcodes and told them to watch their accounts and credit reports closely.

The leaked data seems to be from 2019 or earlier and involves 7.6 million current customers and 65.4 million former ones.

It doesn’t have financial info, but it does have names, emails, and birth dates. AT&T isn’t sure if the leak came from their systems or from somewhere else.

They cover a big chunk of the US with their 5G network and are one of the biggest mobile and internet providers in the country.

Back in February, they had a big outage that affected lots of people.

The news came from BBC.
