Arnold Schwarzenegger has stepped into the 2024 presidential race, publicly backing Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, according to Parade.
This is a big deal since Schwarzenegger, a former California governor and movie star, says he rarely endorses candidates.
Known for his tough stance on politics, he shared that he’s tired of the divisive nature of U.S. politics but felt it was time to speak out.
In a message on X (formerly Twitter), Schwarzenegger told fans that although he typically avoids endorsements, he feels strongly this year because he believes it’s time for change.
He admitted that he’s frustrated with both political parties, calling the current situation “un-American,” especially because of former President Donald Trump’s stance on past elections.
According to Parade, Schwarzenegger, who has always seen America as a “shining city on a hill,” thinks Trump’s actions are dividing the country and making it look bad on the world stage.
Schwarzenegger is urging everyone, regardless of party, to vote on Nov. 5, hoping this election will help close a divisive chapter in American politics.
As he put it, it’s time to “turn the page” and move forward, a message Parade highlights as a call for unity and change.
