A South African designer, Laduma Ngxokolo, found his fashion inspiration during a traditional coming-of-age ritual.

Instead of conforming to Western styles, he embraced his Xhosa culture, leading to the creation of his brand, MaXhosa Africa.

Alongside other African designers, Ngxokolo’s work has gained global recognition, appearing on prestigious runways and even endorsed by stars like BeyoncĂ©.

Despite challenges in Africa’s luxury fashion industry, such as lack of support and infrastructure, designers like Ngxokolo and Bobby Kolade continue to draw inspiration from their roots, highlighting the richness of African culture.

Through their designs, they aim to showcase Africa’s vibrancy while navigating the complexities of the global fashion scene.
