Kent began acting in 2004, starting with a small role in Shameless. He appeared in more than 40 TV shows and movies. He became known for his role in Game of Thrones, where he played a goatherder in the season 4 finale. Apart from acting, Kent was also a writer and director. In 2022, he won the January Awards for his short film called You Know Me. The film is about a son who is trying to make a connection with his father, who has a memory problem called dementia. Kent received awards for both Best Directing and Best Short Film for this.
