Popular bread brand in Japan recalls thousands of packets and offers refunds after discovering remains of a rat in its products.
Around 104,000 packs of sliced white bread from Pasco Shikishima Corporation have been removed from shelves.
Although no illnesses have been reported, the company deeply apologizes for the inconvenience caused and has suspended production at the factory where the bread was made.
While food recalls are uncommon in Japan due to strict hygiene standards, recent incidents like contaminated milk and dietary supplements have raised concerns about food safety.
