February 2024 was the warmest on record, marking nine consecutive months of record-breaking temperatures worldwide.

The rise is mainly due to greenhouse gas emissions, with sea surface temperatures hitting unprecedented highs and Antarctic sea-ice reaching extreme lows.

Despite the ongoing El Niño event, human-induced climate change remains the primary driver of global warming.

While there may be temporary fluctuations in temperatures due to natural phenomena like El Niño, the long-term trend of rising temperatures will persist unless significant action is taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
