Iconic Australian journalist and filmmaker John Pilger passed away at the age of 84 in London on Saturday, as announced by his family.
Known for his impactful work as a foreign correspondent, including coverage of the Vietnam War and Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge, Pilger was also a vocal critic of Western foreign policy and an advocate for Indigenous Australians.
Throughout his career, he received numerous awards for his journalism and produced documentaries on various global issues.
In recent years, he gained attention for supporting Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.
