Quick Trick for Softening Butter in a Baking Rush!

You’re all set to bake holiday cookies, but the recipe calls for softened butter, and you only have rock-hard butter from the fridge.

No worries! Forget the microwave—here’s a brilliant trick I discovered for softening butter fast, thanks to Natasha Kravchuk of Natasha’s Kitchen.

All you need is a tall glass of boiling water and a plate with a paper towel.

Stand the butter stick on the plate, pour the hot water over it, then cover it with the hot glass for 5 to 7 minutes.

The result? Perfectly softened butter that’s evenly soft and easy to work with.

This method beats microwaving because the hot glass gently warms the butter without melting it unevenly. The paper towel also absorbs any excess moisture.

I tried it, and it worked like a charm! From now on, Natasha’s trick is my go-to for quick butter softening during baking emergencies.
