BBC reporters covering the attack in Israel were hurt and threatened with guns when they were stopped by the police in the city of Tel Aviv.
Muhannad Tutunji, Haitham Abudiab, and their team from BBC Arabic were going to a hotel when their car was stopped. They were taken out of the car, checked, and pushed against a wall. The car had a clear sign showing it belonged to the TV.
A spokesperson from BBC said that journalists should be allowed to report on the Israel-Gaza conflict without any problems. Mr. Tutunji and Mr. Abudiab told the police that they were BBC journalists and showed their special ID cards for press.
While Mr. Tutunji was trying to record what was happening, his phone was thrown on the ground, and he was hit on the neck.
The BBC has reached out to the Israeli police for their side of the story.
Hamas, a group in Palestine, launched a big attack on Israel, causing a lot of deaths. More than 1,400 people have died in Gaza because Israel fought back with air strikes, and they might also send in soldiers on the ground.
Israel has told around 1.1 million people in the northern part of Gaza to move to the southern area within one day. The United Nations has asked Israel to cancel this order because it could cause very bad effects for the people.
Hamas, who controls Gaza, has told the people to ignore this order, saying it’s not true and is just a trick.
