Fans quickly defended Denzel Washington after a video surfaced showing the actor appearing frustrated with photographers.

In the clip, shared by TMZ, the 69-year-old was seen arriving at New York City’s Museum of Modern Art on October 23, smiling as he greeted people despite loud calls from the paparazzi.

Just as Washington started heading inside, he suddenly turned back to address the photographers directly.

According to Parade, Washington seemed upset with their behavior, saying firmly, “I said I’ll see you when I get out. Which part of that don’t y’all understand?” Fans on social media rallied behind him, applauding his boldness.

One fan tweeted on X, formerly Twitter, urging everyone to “respect the man,” while others pointed out how annoying it must be for celebrities constantly pushed for photos and autographs. Another commenter admired Washington’s assertive tone, noting he “really meant business.”

Parade captured more fan reactions: one user felt Washington handled things with “American Gangster” style, referencing his 2007 role, while another demanded people “stop playing” with Washington, calling him their idol.

Many echoed similar feelings, stressing respect and understanding for the celebrated actor in such situations.
