Israeli settlers attacked and burned houses and cars in the West Bank village of Jit, leading to at least one death and serious injuries, according to the Palestinian health ministry.
The settlers, some masked, used rocks and Molotov cocktails during the attack on Thursday evening. Footage shared online shows smoke rising from the village.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) responded quickly, using force to disperse the attackers and launching an investigation into the violence.
Israeli leaders have condemned the attack and pledged to bring those responsible to justice. The U.S. has criticized the violence and called for measures to protect all communities.
This incident is part of a broader pattern of violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinians, which has led to numerous attacks and significant displacement in recent months.
The international community, including the U.S., EU, and UK, has responded with sanctions against some settler leaders and outposts.
