The people in the Wales family don’t eat together on big holidays.

Guess what? The special royal Christmas meal at Sandringham doesn’t have a separate table for kids.

Even though Prince William and Kate Middleton are seen as a close and caring family, they don’t have Christmas dinner with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

As shared by a former royal chef named Darren McGrady, young members of the royal family can only join the adults for meals once they have learned how to talk politely and have good conversations.

McGrady told Harper’s Bazaar that royal children eat their meals, including holiday feasts, in their nursery with their nannies.

“The kids ate in the nursery until they could behave well at the dining table,” he said. (During holidays, they usually had turkey instead of ham or other roasts.)

We think the children are likely having more fun together, but they’re also supposed to be learning.

The special room for the royal kids wasn’t just for teaching them things, but also for helping them try different foods,” McGrady said before. “The nanny in charge always decided what food they got, making sure they ate healthy with lots of veggies, and even trying new adult dishes.

McGrady also said that when he cooked for William and Prince Harry as children, he would sometimes put vegetables in their favorite foods, like mashed potatoes. He mentioned that while the princes were told to eat healthy food, Princess Diana would sometimes treat them to fast food from McDonald’s.

Regarding Charlotte, George, and Louis’ treats, Princess Kate has mentioned that she enjoys making brownies with her oldest child. All three royal kids have been seen eating ice cream, seemingly getting their love for sweets from their mom.

After Queen Elizabeth II passed away, the food preferences of the royal family might have become more diverse. Queen Elizabeth II was known for not allowing foods like pasta, potatoes, garlic, and strong flavors in her palace meals, except for chocolate cake, which she loved.
