Unilever Plans Significant Job Cuts Across Europe

Unilever, a major consumer goods company known for brands like Dove and Ben & Jerry’s, announced it will cut one-third of its office-based roles in Europe by the end of 2025.

This decision is part of a broader cost-cutting initiative affecting approximately 7,500 jobs globally, with about 3,200 positions slated for elimination in Europe alone.

The company acknowledged the anxiety caused by these proposals among its employees and emphasized its efforts to revive growth under new CEO Hein Schumacher.

These cuts mark the largest workforce reduction at Unilever in decades.

Unilever, which operates major offices in London and Rotterdam, aims to streamline operations and enhance focus amid competitive pressures.

The restructuring also involves separating its ice cream business to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Despite challenges, including recent environmental concerns, Unilever continues to be a dominant player in the global consumer goods market, committed to adapting and evolving its business strategies.
