United Airlines led with 406 cancellations, followed by Southwest Airlines with 268. Both airlines issued travel advisories for airports like Austin, Corpus Christi, Harlingen, and Houston.
Hurricane Beryl, now a category 1 storm, caused destruction in the Caribbean and was expected to reach category 2 strength by landfall on Monday, according to the US National Hurricane Center.
Ports and flights were impacted, with the Federal Aviation Administration warning of travel disruptions due to thunderstorms.
