A woman from Canada was put in jail in the US for 22 years because she sent letters with poison called ricin. She sent these letters to people, including Donald Trump when he was the president. The letter meant for Mr. Trump was stopped before it got to him.

The woman’s name is Pascale Ferrier, and she agreed to this punishment in January after admitting she did something wrong. She said sorry for her plan not working and that she couldn’t stop Trump. She also said she wanted to find peaceful ways to achieve her goals.

The FBI found her fingerprints on the letter to Mr. Trump. In the letter, she called him a bad name and asked him to quit the presidential race. The judge said her actions were dangerous and hurtful to many.

She also sent similar poisonous letters to eight police officers in Texas. In the past, she had some trouble with the law in Texas, and she blamed those officers.

She is from Canada and France, and she was caught in the US with a gun, knife, and bullets. She confessed that she made the poison at her home and put it in the letter. Ricin is very dangerous and can kill a person within a few days.

In the past, another person was sent to jail for 25 years for sending letters with ricin to Barack Obama and other officials.
